Aroma Magic Vitamin C Skin Lightening Gel Review
Hello fellows!
I am Akansha and today I will give a review on another product from Aroma Magic viz. Aroma Magic Vitamin C Skin Lightening Gel. I have already written in my previous post regarding my love for this brand since I find it absolutely safe for the skin. I believe that products from Aroma Magic will never harm your skin (God please protect my trust). Now, why I was attracted to this particular product is because of my acne marks. Generally, they fade away quite fast but you know, greed, I wanted even faster results. The sad truth is nothing can work faster than your skin's natural regeneration system. So, this gel was a disappointment for me in terms of healing my acne marks. Before I go too deep in explaining my disappointment, let's get started with the product details.
Aroma Magic Vitamin C Skin Lightening Gel
PRODUCT PACKAGING:
I bought this product from Nykaa (obviously). The MRP on the tube is 350 INR but I got it at a discounted price of 280 INR. It comes in a tube packaging and has 100 g of gel in it. I love the red packaging of the tube. It's really very eye-catching. All the details are mentioned on the tube. It is quite handy and travel-friendly too.

INGREDIENTS:
The ingredient list contains botanical names of maximum of the ingredients. I will translate them in common language and also explain the functions of these ingredients.
Aqua, Aloe vera gel, Grape juice, Sour cherry extract, Saffron infused water, Lavender essential oil, Orange essential oil, Tangor (Tangerine + Orange) essential oil, Fragrant wintergreen essential oil, Licorice extract, Optiphen, Tocopherol Vit-E.
Some of the ingredients were very new to me as well. But I trust Aroma Magic with their ingredient choice. Let's understand the main function of these ingredients.
Aqua (water) is used as a solvent and forms an emulsion in which the oil and water components of the products are combined to form creams and lotions.
Aloe vera gel is known to help with acne, sunburns, dark spots, dry skin, irritation, inflammation, etc.
Grape juice keeps the skin moisturized. It has vitamin C and antioxidants that help in skin revitalization and fighting wrinkles and dark spots.
Sour cherry extract can help in controlling excess oils and sebum production and consequently reducing breakouts.
Saffron infused water gives a red and healthy glow to your face and improves the skin texture.
Lavender essential oil kills the bacteria and helps in healing acne. It helps is pore-clearing and fighting inflammation.
Orange essential oil is a very good antimicrobial and is rich in vitamin C. It also helps in antiaging.
Tangor (Tangerine + Orange) essential oil is a good antiseptic and very rich in vitamins.
Fragrant wintergreen essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties and works nicely against bacteria.
Licorice extract helps in improving the overall skin tone and clarity of the skin. It regulates oil production and is effective against acne.
Optiphen is a liquid, paraben-free and alcohol-free preservative that protects the gel from molds and bacteria.
Tocopherol Vit-E is a naturally occurring antioxidant that is extracted from vegetable oils and helps in maintaining skin health.
So, the ingredients are 100 % safe and trustworthy.
HOW TO USE:
"It is best to use me on clean skin after using a toner. Apply me on your face and neck in gentle circular motions. Use me before applying makeup."
The directions say it all. I have nothing more to add. Just lots of love to Aroma Magic for keeping everything simple 💖.
However, I will definitely suggest you to wash your hands after using it and do not apply it on your lips as most people have a habit of licking their lips and the taste of this gel is horribly bitter😂. Yes, I have tasted it and trust me, you will not want to try it (ROFL!).
PRODUCT CLAIMS:
"I am 100 % free of petrochemical, phthalates, toxic ingredients, artificial fragrance and colour. My preparation, packed with natural source of Vitamin C lightens and protects while the Grape Juice guards the akin against UV damage and ageing. Powered by the extracts of Cherry and Licorice, I am enriched with anti pigmentation and skin cell regeneration properties. The exquisite fusion of essential oils of Neroli & Lemon helps to maintain the natural pH balance and promotes skin elasticity while the saffron infused water in my formulation treats the skin blemishes. I leave your skin lighter and lustrous all day."
REALITY:
Well, I must say that the product claims are a little far-fetched. This is gel is quite good in terms of moisturization and gives a cool sensation when applied. It does not feel sticky. It spreads easily and gets absorbed in the skin instantly. So, it can be a good moisturizer for oily skin people. However, in terms of skin lightening, well, it will not happen. It will not lighten the skin in any way, nor it will help with dark spots. It also has a weird fragrance which I am not a fan of. It's just like a normal gel moisturizer.
Also, I want to add then even if this gel has SPF 30, don't try to substitute it for a sunscreen as it does not have UVA and UVB filters. I know it is written in the claims that it protects from UV damage, but it is my personal experience that this gel does not help in preventing tanning or any other problem caused by prolonged sun exposure. Please use a real sunscreen for sun protection like Aroma Magic Aloe Vera Sunscreen Gel. I have written a review on the same and mentioned the link at the bottom of this post. Do check it out!
