Khadi Natural Herbal Protein Hair Cream Review

I am Akansha and today I will give another honest review on Khadi Natural's Herbal Protein Hair Cream. Khadi Natural is an Indian brand whose products are cruelty-free and 100% vegan. The ingredients they use are all-natural and paraben-free. This hair cream is a unisexual product. If your hairs do not respond good to oiling (mine don't), you must try this hair cream. It actually helps with the rough and damaged hairs. So, let's get started with the details.

PRODUCT PACKAGING:

This hair cream comes in a very basic plastic tub packaging which is the characteristic of the products from Khadi Naturals. I feel that this type of packaging is bad for the environment and unhygienic to use because you put your finger again and again in the tub. I would like to request the users to reuse this tub and not throw it away (Please!). The MRP on the tub is 220 INR but I got it from Nykaa at 179 INR (yay Nykaa!). It is a transparent tub and contains 100 g of hair cream in it. It lasts for 7-8 times use for medium length hairs i.e., roughly a month if you use this hair cream twice a week.  Don't apply too much of hair cream, it will not do any good and only the tub will finish faster. The colour of the hair cream is white and its consistency is very thick, almost like any heavy moisturizer. It spreads easily and smoothly and has a nice fragrance too.

PRODUCT INGREDIENTS:

Purified water, Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, Wheatgerm Oil, Amla Extract, Brahmi Extract, Neem Extract, Aloevera Extract, Hydrolized Soy Protein, Shikakai Extract, Mulethi, Ajwain, Hibiscus Extract, Bhringraj Extract, Fenugreek, Nimbu, Base Q.S.

Here, Q.S. in Base Q.S. means 'quantity sufficient' i.e., the base used to complete the composition of the product is exactly that quantity which is needed to achieve the desired result, but not more. All of the ingredients used in this hair cream are extremely good for your hair. All of them are natural, not chemical. Therefore, assure yourself that you are not putting any chemicals on your hairs. The ingredients are 100% safe.

HOW TO USE:

"Apply gently on the scalp and entire hairs and massage properly before or after shampoo. Focus on bottom of hair strands. Also safe for chemically treated hair." 

Alright, the directions given on the tub are pretty decent and initially I followed them only. But later on, I felt that these instructions are not working properly for me. Although the instructions say that you can use this hair cream after shampoo, but I will not recommend that because it kills the volume in your hairs. The hairs become greasy and collect more dirt and dust. It is also mentioned that this hair cream is safe for chemically treated hairs. I don't have chemically treated hairs so I cannot comment on that. Over time I have developed my own way of using this hair cream and I will also give reasons for why I don't follow the instructions anymore.

IF YOU HAVE SHORT HAIRS:

It will be very easy to apply the hair cream if you have short hairs. Just take some cream on your fingers and glide along with the direction of your hairs. Leave it overnight and shampoo your hairs the next day. Apply 2-3 times a week.

IF YOU HAVE LONG HAIRS:

It will take a considerable amount of time and effort to apply the hair cream if you have long hairs. First, comb your hairs properly and start by taking a small section of your hairs. Take the cream on your fingers and start applying along with the length of your hairs. If you have a dry scalp or dandruff problem, you can apply it on the scalp. If not, then don't apply this cream on the scalp because it makes the scalp very greasy. I have an oily scalp and if I apply it on my scalp, the oiliness would not come off even after shampooing the hairs. 

After you have applied the cream on the full section, take a comb and gently brush that section so that the hair cream is evenly dispersed. Make sure to apply a little more on the ends of hairs because that portion is generally very dry and damaged. Repeat the same steps with other sections of your hairs. After you have applied the cream all over your hairs, tuck the hairs in a bun or with a hairclip. Leave it overnight and shampoo your hairs the next day. Apply 1-2 times a week.

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

"Protein hair cream is formulated with the goodness of protein rich ingredients that reduces hair damage and helps hair regain its lost elegance. It makes hair smooth, shiny, silky and restores essential nutrients in the hair fibres to uplift radiance and growth. It imparts hair nourishment."

REALITY:

I like the fact that the claims of the product actually match with the result of the product, except the hair growth part. This hair cream makes the hairs shiny, soft and manageable. It nourishes the hairs and you will actually feel that your hairs are much better than before. However, I don't think it does anything to promote hair growth. My growth has been the same with or without using this product.

This hair cream is good, actually good, no extra remark here. But, you must not expect that it will totally transform your hairs in a single use. It will definitely do good to your hair but you have to be consistent with the use. You can also try alternating with other hair products. Also try to understand your hairs, try to identify what products do them good and what don't. For example, if using this hair cream makes your hairs too oily, don't use the hair cream before every time you wash your hairs. Skip once or twice and customize your hair care routine according to YOU.
